BBLOC, the company well known for its recent, successful productions at the Pavilion of shows such as Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Kinky Boots and most recently, The Addams Family, will be returning in April 2023 to present Calendar Girls The Musical. Written by Gary Barlow and Tim Firth, this award-winning musical is based on the 2003 film Calendar Girls which was itself based on a true story.

When Annie’s husband dies from leukaemia, she teams up with her close friend Chris, to buy a comfortable sofa for the visitors’ room at the hospital where he was treated. They have an idea of printing a calendar to raise the funds, featuring some of the members of the Knapely branch of the Women’s Institute. A calendar with a difference as each of the traditional activities would be depicted by one of the ladies discreetly posing in the nude.

Their proposal is initially met with great scepticism, but eventually Chris convinces them to participate. The musical tells the heart-warming and inspiring story of friendship and support within a group of ladies who achieved something extraordinary.
